Bellingham: From the Playground to the Pitch by Matt and Tom Oldfield tells the story of Jude Bellingham, who has already made himself a name in this year’s tournament by scoring in the 1-0 win against Serbia, and saving England from defeat with a stunning overhead kick against Slovakia. Read this to learn about the early years in this promising young player’s career.

Another player people are keeping their eyes on at this year’s tournament is French hero Kylian Mbappé. In Harry Coninx’s biography Mbappé, readers can learn fun facts about this goal-scoring maverick.

It seems unreal that the Lionesses won the Women’s Euro two years ago already! Relive the excitement of the final match by reading the biography of Chloe Kelly, who scored the winning goal in the final against Germany. Harry Meredith’s Chloe Kelly tells readers all they need to know about this English hero.

For readers who prefer fiction, Ian Wright and Musa Okwonga’s book Striking Out is the perfect fit. Wright, who helped England reach the finals of Euro 1992, tells a story about Jerome, who wants to become a footballer. Home life is difficult for Jerome, but when he meets the right mentor, he sees that he can achieve his dreams. Contains themes of domestic abuse.

Young readers can enjoy Simon Mugford’s England Rule, which includes plenty of fun facts, charts and illustrations by Dan Green. This book covers the history of the England men’s national team, including Euro 2020, the tournament when football almost came home!
